YouTube, DIY Wedding Flowers and Videos Galore from Team Campbell's.

Hello everyone

Every couple of weeks we have a little Team Campbell's meeting where we talk about ideas we'd like to try for the business.  I love these little brainstorming sessions we have, it's a brilliant chance for every single member of the team to really contribute to the direction we're taking and can end up being quite hilarious too, as all ideas are incredibly welcome!

One topic which did come up the other day was how to make getting in touch with us as relaxed and easy as possible and to help make working with us a truly uncomplicated and pleasurable experience.  After all, it's a joyous occasion we're all working towards and so should, in our book, be as stress free as poss!

So, without further ado, I'll hand you over to Amy who will tell you all about our latest thoughts and ideas ... Tx

... Thanks T,

Well, we thought that we would put together a short blog for you to let you know about our  latest videos we've been busy working on and also about our YouTube channel and how to subscribe.  We do pride ourselves in being very accessible to our brides, as you probably know, and are constantly looking for new ways in which you can keep in touch with us. What we have noticed, however, is that our YouTube channel does get a little bit neglected!

Being just super excited about the up coming weddings and all the consultations we are doing at the moment, we thought it would be a great time to share with you our latest video 'Meet the team'. It was specially put together for facebook and is in a handy format perfect for viewing on phones, and shows those of you who haven't met us yet where we work and what we all do too. It's really simple, quick and we think, quite cute too!  Have a look and let us know what you think, it's always so great to get comments and know if we're heading in the right direction.

Another thing to look which might be of interest is our DIY videos.  Especially if you are a crafty kind of bride.  T has some really great tips and ideas as well as step-by-step tutorials. With over 12000 views we must be doing something right!  Look out for some new ones coming up too very soon.

Also we'd love it if you fancied getting in touch with us if you have any requests for DIY videos or anything you would like to see us do or talk about in the future.  There are plenty of ways that you can get in touch including our website or through facebooktwitter, and pinterest.

Thanks for reading!

2015 Flower Trends

We thought we'd bring you a blog post which first featured on the lovely +Boho Weddings - I asked Amy to pop it onto our blog just in case any of you might have missed it, so here goes .....

Here at Campbell's HQ we've had the most amazing 2014, winning awards, being on the telly and working with more wonderful couples than ever, designing abundant, 'just picked' prettiness, using many locally grown blooms as we possibly can.

So here we are again, ready with creative prettiness and to talk all about this year's colour trends.  We find that bridesmaid's dresses can quite often influence floral design, but we always check out this year's Pantone colours too, just to be sure which direction colour is going, and judging by the new season of Dessy and other bridesmaid's dresses - these colours are spot on!

So here are some up-to-the-very-minute ideas of how your flowers can incorporate the current colours.

Whites, creams and greens

Clean, classic, simple and stylish and absolutely gorgeous paired with sage-green bridesmaid's dresses or gorgeous with dove grey.  Whites, creams and greens are infinitely adaptable and can be used in so many styles.  Introduce soft grasses, dried wheat, barley and oats for a pretty meadowy-look or keep it simple using clouds of billowy gypsophila.

Hannah and Wayne - A Summer, Rustic,Tipi Wedding in a Meadow at Home

Hello lovelies

It's all gone a tiny bit crazy here at HQ with a record number of new couples contacting us, making appointments and coming to talk through flowery ideas for their special day.  Mel and I are loving meeting so many excited brides and coming up with ways to really create wonderfully personal designs, just for you.  Amy and Soph have been busy too, spreading the Campbell's message that seasonal is best and, wherever possible, locally grown is even better!  Without further ado, I'll hand you over to Amy's post which features lots of lovely DIY inspiration. Tx

Thanks T, I thought that it was about time we featured a summer time wedding and how better to start than with a tipi wedding from June 2014? Hannah and Wayne tied the knot in St Michael's Church which looked beautiful all covered in ivy on a gorgeous Summer's day. Hannah chose simple bunches of gyp for us to attach to pew ends which accented the venue and didn't detach from it's beauty.  After the ceremony it was then onto the stunning tipi set up at Hannah's mum and dad's house near Heaton House Farm, what a stunningly personal venue!

Hannah dried rose petals and popped them into rolled up music sheets, as music is of massive importance to the bride and groom, to use as confetti.  This is a great idea as it's biodegradable and doesn't harm the surrounding environment.

Now for my favourite part, I get to talk about the brides bouquet.  Hannah wanted a just picked, very natural, hand tied posy using meadowy flowers and with lots of herbs.  The colour palette was mostly whites creams and greens but with a little pop of colour from the yellow centres of the daisies and a few choice blooms. We were asked by the bride to use British and locally grown where possible which suited us down the the ground.  The posy included several varieties of daisies, ammi, hops, tanacetum, vilburnum opulus, gypsophila, white thistles, rosemary, mint, alchemilla mollis, stocks, green bell, wheat, craspedia and astilbe.

Here is what Hannah had to say recently on Whimsical Weddings blog about us here at Campbell's: "I knew I wanted wild, natural looking flowers, again I didn't want anything too formal or 'done' looking.  We found Tracey Campbell at a wedding fair; I was drawn to her stand as it was full of wild flowers, exactly what we'd been looking for.  She even managed to get Wayne excited about the flowers as she had loads of hops on her stand and promised he could have some in his buttonhole"

We just love designing hair flowers and were so thrilled when to prepare some daisies for Hannah's hair and make a cute flower crown for the flower girl.

For the bridesmaids Hannah went for a smaller version of her bouquet which worked perfectly with their beautiful dove grey dresses.

We were also asked to make up some venue flowers in mismatched vases, which we provided, filled with flowers and foliage from the theme and intersperse them with pretty little pots of daisies on the tables in the tiniest of terracotta pots provided by Hannah's Mum.

It's at this point we would like to say thanks to Red on Blonde for the fantastic photographs, pop over to their website for a closer look at their work.  The last photograph we would like to leave you with is one of our favourites and that is Hannah's dad's reaction to seeing her for the first time all dressed up for her big day.

Ella and Christopher - A Wonderful Winter Wedding at Whitley Hall

Hello all

It's so good to be back after a really well earned rest. The whole team are raring to go and while Mel and I work away booking consultations and answer our flooded in box, Amy's been busy writing this month's newsletter and lots of fab blog posts featuring our lovely couples.  We just love 'real' weddings, they offer so much sound advice and pretty inspiration too.  So without further ado, I'll hand you over to Amy. So looking forward to meeting lots of you in the next couple of weeks. Tx

Thanks T, well we love a good winter wedding here Campbell's and Ella and Christopher's was no exception.  They really wanted to embrace winter and this reflected in the floral designs. They chose Whitely Hall for the venue which made the perfect back drop and looked fab on all the photographs.  It was a very intimate affair with very close family and friends only.
