Banjos and Bluebells - A Woodstock Inspired Photoshoot

Hi all,

Today we are bringing you a photoshoot that we were lucky enough to be involved in a couple of months ago that recently made it onto Festival Brides blog, which you can still catch by following the link.  Hayley from Glory Days Vintage had the idea of putting together this Woodstock inspired shoot which suited us and our 'just picked' style down to the ground.  We channelled our inner hippies and got on board straight away.  It was a real honour to be hand picked to be part of such a great team of creative people.

The models are a folk/rock band called Zealous Doxy and even managed to treat all the guys to an impromptu song or two which really added to the festival vibe.  Follow the link where you will find a behind the scenes video filmed by Special Day Films which includes some of the bands music.

Ryan from Shutter Go Click took some amazing shots but also helped lug our heart frame through the woods and surround it with bluebells.  Once all set up the pictures speak for themselves, our heart frame isn't the most practical but it sure is beautiful.

Again a big shout out to Glory Days Vintage for getting us involved, Hula Hair and make-up artist  for adding feathers to our flowers and to good friend Victoria Farr for her amazing make-up.

So here are the pictures, enjoy!

Seasonal Flowers and Frosty Days - Ruth and James's Valentines Day Wedding

Hi all,

I was feeling all romantic today so I thought I would bring you a romantic, slightly chilly, wedding from Valentines Day this year!  It is the first time we have ever had a bride on Valentines Day itself so it was a hectic yet very exciting day for us all here at Campbell's HQ.  Ruth and James got married at Christchurch Gleadless, which coincidentally was where my Mum and Dad got married years ago.  A beautiful church as you will see from the photographs.  The reception was held at the wonderful Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield.

Ruth and James love seasonal, wild flowers which is why they decided quite quickly that they wanted to work with us, which was just lovely to hear.  Ruth wanted a very lose, unstructured and hand tied with lots of textures and soft trails, along with splashes of colour to offset her chosen muted tones.  T and Mel used grasses, wheat and barley, seeds, berries, succulents, blue thistles, pussy willow, rosemary, muscari and ivy.  In fact the succulent in Ruth's bouquet was such a star of her design, that she promptly named it 'Stanley' and T received a little note, along with a snap to show that Stanley is potted up, doing well and is a really fab reminder of their special day!

A huge thank you to Jon from S6 Photography for sharing his wonderful images with us.

British Flower's Week - Out on the Wiley Windy Moors.

Hi all,

Don't worry we are not going mad and repeating ourselves!  A couple of week ago I shared a blog with you about our photo shoot for British Flower's week (15th - 19th June) which was a sneak peak at what happened behind the scenes.  If you didn't manage to catch us on Whimsical Wedding Wonderland Blog here are the finished shots and a bit about what inspired T and Team Campbell's to organise this shoot.  Here is where I hand over to Queen Campbell's herself to tell you all about it:

"To help showcase just how beautiful blooms from our shores can be, and to mark the third British Flower's Week, team Campbell's decided to create an entirely British-based inspiration shoot, with everything from the flowers to gowns, stationery and cake proudly created by some of the industry's best British grown talent.

I wanted to really encourage everyone to think about where their flowers came from as well as provide some beautiful big day inspiration.  Just as we have a plentiful supply of sometimes over-looked seasonal stunners when it comes to flowers, we also have an incredible array of British wedding creatives deserving of celebration, so I was keen to curate a shoot that showcased this too."

Barns & British Blooms - Susanna & Nate's Rustic Wildflower Wedding

Hi all,

Today's real wedding is quite a recent one, in fact it happened just this month!  Usually there is a slight delay in getting the pictures as with photographers most of the work is done after the wedding with all the editing, so it was a brilliant surprise to have some preview photographs to share with you so soon.

Susanna and Nate got married at the Town Hall then had their reception at Whirlow Hall Farm in what I believe is the lambing barn, how brilliant!  As you will see from the photographs it added real character and atmosphere to the day, what a fab location.

Susanna wanted a very rustic, natural and meadowy feel to her bouquet with plenty of herbs and fragrance.  They wanted seasonality to play a part too so the flowers T and Mel chose were ammi, flowering oregano, mint, cosmos, astrantia, gypsophila, panicum grass and lavender plus we kept with the natural theme and finished the design with twine.

Susanna was thrilled with the end results and sent us a lovely e-mail saying ...

"You did such an amazing job with the flowers - they were so beautiful and it was such a lovely 'surprise' to have on the day!".  We were also told that Susanna mentioned us in her speech which is such a massive compliment we were all really chuffed.

We would like to thank the very talented Joy at Unique Wedding Planning for introducing us to Susanna and Nate, we just love working with you and also Mark Tierney Photography for letting us have access to such incredible shots, we have been assured there are more to come so watch this space.

Urban Chic - Paul & Sarah's June Sheffield City Centre Wedding

Hello all!

So this is my first day back at work after being away for a couple of weeks on a lovely family holiday to Cornwall.  Now the majority of people might feel a little down on their first day back but not me, I get to come back to these stunning photographs in my inbox.

The flowers included in the brides bouquet were scabious seed pods, lavender, veronica, celosia, astrantia, peonies, 'Vendella' roses, 'Memory Lane' roses, wax flower, astilbe, anastasia chrysanthemum, jana spray roses, stachys, antirrhinum, lisianthus and eucalyptus.

As well as the brides bouquet, T and Mel got to put together some gorgeous hair flowers for the bride and bridesmaids.  But they also designed one of my favourite things that Campbell's do, a wand!! And as Sarah said, a beautiful addition for such a pretty little princess. I just adore the colours too - muted, dusky lilacs, with sages, champagnes, raspberries and a little pop of magenta for lovely brightness to set off against those soft tone, which worked really beautifully with her lovely bright bridesmaid's dress.

In the e-mail that Sarah sent us the other day, she had some very kind words to say about us which left us just brimming with pride and feeling extremely lucky that we get to work with such lovely people.  Here is what she had to say " We had the most amazing wedding day.  The moment it started to become reality was when Mel arrived with the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen in my life!  I could not take my eyes off them.  The colours and textures surpassed my expectations.  They looked so fresh and delicate, and yet so striking.  They travelled all the way to North Norfolk with me on our honeymoon and were placed in our bedroom in our safari style lodge by the coast.  I loved waking up to them every morning and remembering our special day.  Frances adored her wand, such a special touch for a little princess."

A massive thanks to Ruth Atkinson Photography for the brilliant images.

Out on the Wiley Windy Moors Inspiration Shoot - Behind the Scenes

Hello lovely people

Today we bring you a bit of a collaborative blog post with Amy & I both doing our bit to keep you topped up with lots of fresh ideas and bags of inspiration for your big day.

One very windy day we got together with a whole heap of wonderful industry friends and put together a pretty shoot which was all a bit Wuthering Heights inspired (I'm just a little bit in love with Kate Bush) but solely featured British grown flowers for this year's British Flower Week. Team Campbell's worked their socks off to create this prettiness for you and I'm happy to say the effort paid off as today we're featuring on the really lovely blog Whimsical Wonderland Weddings.  Click on this link to be transported to see our pretty Kathy, our brooding Heathcliffe, our delicate Isabella, a flower arch, floral jewellery, a floral chandelier, a table setting amidst the heather and ribbons galore!

So those are the 'real' photos, but what of the 'behind the scenes'?  Well here we all are in our uncut glory, beautifully captured by our good friend Sarah Brabbin ... enjoy!
